Regarding the 1st district

The 1st district of the Loire, with 111 166 inhabitants listed in 2009 by the FRENCH NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS AND ECONOMIC STUDIES, is the third most populating of the department after that of Gier (116 000 hbts) and from the Plain (hbts 154 000).

The 1st district is composed of four urban cantons:

  • the canton Saint- tienne Nord-Ouest II (31 500 inhabitants) (Roche-La-Moli re, Saint-Genest-Lerpt, Saint-Victor-sur-Loire and districts st phanois Alma, the Small Corner, of Big Closed, Coast - Hot and of Chavassieux) where is elected Arlette Bernard, general advisor PS and added to the mayor of Saint-Genest-Lerpt.
  • the canton Saint- tienne Nord-Est II (32 500) (Saint-Priest-en-Jarez, Saint-Jean-Bonnefonds and districts st phanois of the Terrace, Montreynaud, Bergson, M ons, the Sun, the Plain Achilles and Carnot) where is elected GILES ARTIGUES, to recommend general Modem and former deputy
  • the canton Saint- tienne Nord-Ouest I (22 600) (Villars and st phanois districts of Jacquard, Montaud, Momey, Nice - Air and Grouchy) where is elected PAUL CELLE, to recommend general minor right-wing parties and mayor of Villars.
  • and finally, the canton Saint- tienne Nord-Est I (23 500) (Town hall, Prefecture, Cr t de Roc, Chateaucreux, Fourneyron, Monthieu-La Montat, The Sun and Terrenoire) where I am elected general adviser.

  • Saint-Genest-Lerpt: 5566 hbts. Mayor: CHRISTIAN JULIEN, PS
  • Villars: 8062 hbts. Mayor: PAUL CELLE, minor right-wing parties
  • Saint-Priest-en-Jarez: 6022 hbts. Mayor: JEAN-MICHEL PAUZE, miscellaneouses
  • Saint-Jean-Bonnefonds: 5886 hbts. Mayor: JACQUES FRECENON, minor left-wing parties
