Many threats influence return.

With the massive abolitions of posts, it is 13500 teachers and personnels that will not be any more in front of the pupils this year! The government already plans to abolish 16000 more in 2010 consequences are disastrous: the closings of classes are numerous; replacement all is not assured; male nurses and advisers of direction is missing; the acts of incivilities are in net increase; the reduction among assistant helpers of school life (AVS) does not allow reception in good conditions of many handicapped pupils. As for the reduction of means in nursery schools, she will draw away a very strong fall of the schooling of the children of less than 3 years.

To this short-sighted fiscal policy are added many regressive "reforms". The progressive abolition of the school map will create inevitably a dual educational system and reinforce inequality between establishments. The reforms of the training of the teachers call into question the quality of this training. The new programmes and the week of 4 days in the primary school impose on the young pupils the longest and heaviest days of Europe. The reform of the professional receptacle will be translated by a strangling of professional courses of study, however essential tools of further education for many pupils in trouble.

The socialist Party condemns firmly the educational policy of the government which plunges the school into an unsurpassed crisis and attacks the foundations of the public service of education.

The socialist Party offers another policy for the school. At a time of major economic and social crisis, we must invest in the future of our country and our children by granting an absolute priority in education. We offer:

An immediate moratorium on the abolitions of posts and a long-term programming of the recruitments of personnels.
A revaluation of the jobs of education and renovation of the training of the teachers.
A plan of struggle against school inequality: reinforce ZEP, diminish the number of pupils by class, promote innovative experiments, support families in difficulties and assure social mixing of sexes.
A large construction site of improvement of pedagogic methods for the success of all, at all school levels and with all the concerned actors, as part of the installation of the individual utility.

Right does not love the school and has never liked it. Its policy sacrifices the future of our country by trimming on the education of our children. The socialist Party will be strongly mobilised for reporting this policy and offering alternative, bearing choices of future and of hope for France and its rising generations.

    Right does not love the school, this we know it for a long time. Victor Hugo already noted that each time right returned to power, schools were closed to open prisons.
